Introducing me, Joan Metto, a 32-year-old UX & UI Designer hailing from Uppsala, Sweden. Standing 1,91m tall I see a lot and can help change the lightbulbs and if lucky, even detect rain. I was born in January 1991 to Kurdish and Czech parents, and my somewhat diverse heritage is reflected in my unique perspective.
When I’m away from designing digital experiences, I find joy in the simpler pleasures. The Neanderthal in me loves fishing and has a genuine passion for spending time outdoors and preferably basking in the sun. But when I get sophisticated again I unleash my inner geek, going from green-time to screen-time. Everything from binge-watching series and anime to conquering virtual realms in gaming, I’m get completely out of control!
I like working out whenever I have the energy and I’m also a big UFC enthusiast. This sometimes makes me believe that I can do a mean roundhouse kick while debating the merits of minimalistic design. I can’t.
In essence, I’d say I’m a rather fascinating little creature with a rich heritage, a knack for design, and a well-rounded set of hobbies that make me an engaging, relatable and tolerable presence.
